Deck A2 - The Embassy Center Sci_fi_apartment_complex_by_thiagoklafke-d2xpdfi

Merely a massive airlock away is the Embassy Center; the home of all embassies belonging to any spacefaring race currently involved in the Council. The embassy center, while larger than the Council Chamber, is quite a bit smaller than the other sectors of Armistice as it only holds the basic embassies. Each embassy is an enclosed area fit with airlocks and specially designed atmospheric conditioning systems to allow each species a comfortable atmosphere, regardless of what kind of atmosphere it may be. Each embassy is enclosed in the cube-like center to allow each specie the ability to quickly communicate with eachother in person with only minimal walking required. Multiple eateries and transport decks are also in the Embassy Center, although most diplomats tend to eat in their own personal chambers.

The center has clearly not been used in awhile. It requires cleaning, and the removal of old embassy equipment which once belonged to the governments that worked here years ago. Judging by how much random trinkets, old computers and holotablets remain behind, it seems some of them left in a hurry. Odd.

"The Evanthan Pluga Flowers really add to the room. A little bit of pink to counteract all the green.."

The Lady Ambassador to the Armistice Council, Baroness Viaka Nas'Aik, murmured to herself as almost a half-thought. She was typing away madly at her nearly spherical holo-console while, all around her, members of the United Defense Force's Orbital Marines and assorted staff of the were assisting in moving gear, supplies, and construction materials into the now partially constructed United Athakan System's Embassy on Armistice Station. She sat, legs crossed beneath her long, thickly 'armored' dress, in the half circle of a couch at the very center of the room as, before her, a three-dimensional diagram of Armistice Station rotated slowly for all to see. The image could be switched out with those of Vetkan, Evantha, or any other of the beautiful worlds under Athakan control, but the diagram of Armistice played an important role at the moment. She was filing an introductory report on Armistice; a short paper introducing basic information about the station that had to be finished and then sent to the Colonial Administration and Diplomacy Corps via quantum communications before she and a few of her staff finally moved into the Armistice Council Chamber.

She, like many of her fellow Diplomacy Corps aids, were not used to extended spaceflight. While this wouldn't be as great of an issue with perfected gravity systems, older Athakan craft such as the corvette 'Undying Peace', which was the elder corvette that brought them to the station, had slightly irregular gravity. It was off in some places, higher in others due to the inner gyroscope rotation, and it made it impossible for Viaka and her staff of around twenty aids to keep their lunches down. The only people who had anything to eat for the multi-hour trip were their Orbital Marine detachment; a group of around forty soldiers that seemed to relish the strange gravity of their aged diplomacy craft. Viaka grimaced a tiny bit; exposing her dual rows of sharp teeth as she faced another rising wave of nausea that just didn't seem to disappear. She, and she guessed many of her fellow Diplomacy Corps workers, cursed the Starfleet finance board the whole way to Armistice, as during the previous fiscal quadrant the board deemed the 'older' ship models were 'not in need' of updated systems, as there was no need for them in Starfleet. She made a mental note to make a personal visit to the finance board on her return trip home..

She took a moment to glance up from her work, and eye the Orbital Marines assisting her aides in bringing in embassy equipment from the loaders outside. If it weren't for the Marines offering to assist with unloading their equipment, they probably wouldn't have anything done by this point. As she glanced back down to continue her report, she quickly made a mention of the hard work the Marines were doing. Something to help them in their careers later, no doubt.

A shadow suddenly came over Ambassador Viaka and, as her eyes narrowed and snapped upwards to eye who had interrupted her work, she would see one of these Orbital Marines standing at attention before her; his clenched fist pressed against his upper chest in a perfect salute.

"M'Lady, the unloading of the 'Undying Peace' is complete. I have asked twenty of my Marines to depart the Embassy to assist in watching over the craft, while we remaining shall assist in the completion of the embassy at your command."

The Ambassador would pause from her work and give the soldier a gentle, yet graceful nod,"Thank you very much, Coordination Officer. Your efforts are much appreciated. I assume the craft has had no... Visitors?"

The importance of keeping the 'Undying Peace' safe from intruders was one of their highest priorities. There was no telling what species would be lying about in the Council Chambers, and if their intentions were at all peaceful. The navigational core held the data of their Light Drive's last known 'stream' location: The Home System. It was imperative to keep the location of their home systems safe, and thus, the ship had to be protected well. While the Ambassador didn't expect much hostility from the species waiting on Deck A1, it never hurt to be cautious.

The CO merely shook his head in a respectful manner; his salute undying,"No M'Lady, the ship has remained locked and under tight security since our landing."

The Ambassador nodded; her elegant voice sweet to the ears,"Very good. I shall.. Requisition some anti-nausea pills from our supplies, and then I shall begin our trip to the Council Chamber."

The soldier nodded again, and prepared to depart,"I shall alert one of my flight commanders to donate a guardsmen team for you, M'Lady."

"Very good, Coordination Officer. That will be all," replied Lady Ambassador Viaka. She typed a few more keys into her report, her bright blue eyes looking over her words a few times, before she initiated the transfer back to the homeworld. She deactivated the spherical holo-tablet and, attaching the collapsed device onto her belt, rose from her chair and began opening one of her personal bags sitting beside her. She slipped a few spherical pills from a pouch in her bag and, with a few dehydrated raw meat tablets to go with it, tossed them into her mouth and swallowed. Swallow with food, it said, but didn't that counteract the point of these ji'knaring pills?

She made sure to check herself over a few times before, motioning for four of her pre-selected aids to follow, she made her way past the horde of working Athakans, and towards the exit of the embassy. Just like the CO promised, two Orbital Marines were quick to follow behind them as they began their rather short trip to the tram station just a hundred meters down the well grassed and decorated Lane 03. Nervousness was expected, and while the Baroness Viaka wouldn't she was.. She was very, but she was also confident. Confident in their mission, confident in her aides, confident in her people, and confident they were about to make Athakan history.
