08N - Tomb of Kings 4rEAyhV

New Terra is place of immense culture, one of humanity's oldest colonies, it stands out among the rest as classical facades mesh with contemporary architecture in a way that is distinctively New Terran. Jarring to some, the sights are a refreshing reminder to the descendents of the original colonists that they have finally found their true home in the Universe and with their own hands they've almost personally raised it up to achieve the highest feats of glory and power.

Whilst there are various poverty-stricken areas of the massive series of cities that almost completely dominates the planets otherwise lush surface there remains immense wealth in the many pockets occupied by the middle and higher classes, the Government District and Imperial Palace are the centers of attention and are the very definition of serene, there remains several sections of the city where foreigners have set up shops to cater to the vast amounts of offworlders who frequent the planet on a daily basis for business, tourism or various other means.

08N - Tomb of Kings 9yIpIHU

But the most impressive landmark of the planet and it's most famous attraction is the impressive and gargantuan Imperial Palace, occupying an area of almost 80 square kilometers(roughly the size of Pyongyang) and including well over 400 kilometers of corridors alone the Complex stands out as a major symbol of New Terra's historical grandiosity and extreme opulence. Within the Palace is not only the Imperial Residence and place of Government but the Complex also holds the headquarters of nearly every major military institution as well as important bureaucratic and administrative centers driving home it's status as the single most centralized area of power within the Empire.

Armies of servants, soldiers, officials, diplomats and other employees walk the huge grounds of the Palace daily attending to their duties and as a result the Complex and surrounding areas is often home to these hordes of people and there are sprawling residential areas around the Palace which is doubly catered to by several official Imperial-sanctioned businesses that operate both inside and out the Complex serving both as a support to government employees and foreign emissaries as well as a major tourist attraction. Owing to it's prestige, nearly every nation in the Galaxy not openly in a state of hostility towards New Terra is permitted a station in the Complex and diplomatic deals are sometimes often sealed on the planets surface which has helped to establish a informal nickname for the Palace as the 'Second Armistice'.

Nations permitted an embassy: The Kal'Bavakorian Hegemony, the Solar Trade Confederacy, the Network, the Nakar Empire, the Socialist Republics of Zeleniy,  the United Draz'iran Council, the United Systems Remnants, The Peoples Republic of Unified Korea and the United Federation of Red Sun Systems.

New Terran Imperial Palace
Imperial Cabinet Chambers

08N - Tomb of Kings Theed%20palace%20entry%20salle%20trone

The stress pressed down on him, the dramatically told stories of the 'pressures of the crown' waning him being recognized as a pertinent reality. The minor ceremony of the reception before was no doubt meant by the original practitioners of courtly protocols to be a time of relieving stress by comforting and calming guests, William wondered how they could've been so incompetent. Then again, he reminded himself, these were established during the dramatized 'reign of the incompetents', history was everything to New Terrans after-all and the changes stuck, that or they simply forgot about it during the series of palace coups overseen during that time. But now was not the time for reminiscing, he saw the gilded doors to the meeting chamber rapidly approach him and his band of schemers the echoing footsteps of over twenty men easily drowning out any other sound that dared approach.

The servants and guards by the two large doors swiftly moved to open them so the procession wouldn't have to stop and wait, the few seconds may have seemed like nothing to the low man, but to these vipers it was several eternities of wasted time and the expediency and usefulness of these guards was often hailed as a 'little miracle' as they would dart past. The doors slammed shut behind them as they swiftly moved to assume their assigned seats, the room was finely decorated with prestigious and exquisite historical artifacts, paintings, benches among other fine things adorning the various edges and walls of the high-roofed room even the chairs within which the men scrambled to seat themselves looked expensive, the one designated for the Emperor being the most grand of all, not to mention taller than the rest intended for subordinates as was New Terran culture.

The 'Marshal-Emperor' William sat seemingly calm in his perfectly noble chair but even then his mind was still racing with inumerous plots, suspicions, plans and ambitions all the while he logged the faces and names of his appointed staff once-more. The oldest and most highly ranked member was the first to speak to formally initiate the meeting after the Emperor authoritatively uttered the ceremonial words to commence,

"Our economic growth rate remains around a solid 6.4%," the First Minister spoke plainly, "Whilst this would, under normal circumstances, be a rather lackluster rate for our nation, given the current situation I can only believe we should find it a godsend, the tolls of the war on our economy have been hard to bear but it's speculated that if current trends remain we certainly have the very real potential to get back to our previous levels of output and economic growth within the next decade." he finished his analysis with a firm nod to drive it home.

"Excellent review, Monsieur d'Anjou." Jie Liang, the Armaments Minister was the next to speak, "Under normal circumstances I would find it quite repressive to interrupt such fantastic news with an extremely contrary situation elsewhere, but it must be done." he made sure to pay special attention to the Emperor's calm expressions before continuing his line.

"Quite simply gentlemen, we are running out of two major resources, helium and land. The consumption of helium-3 we experienced during the war was absolutely unprecedented, we saw jagged supply lines stop entire fleets who then many claim had to resort to 'brigandage' to re-supply themselves. Whilst I completely understand the necessity of the existing 'procure on site' policy in regards to shortages during those times, the fact remains that even now we are experiencing a rapid rate of consumption of which we will not be able to 'procure on site' in order to rectify. We are running out of options, your Imperial Majesty, we must either scale back the military-"

"Preposterous." the actual Marshal himself spoke this time, his face betraying his anger. "I will not sit back and allow our nation to once-more allow the vultures in to roost, we have shown ourselves the very model of strength of which every nation envies and desires to follow, to meekly accept this mutilation of our armed forces of which the Armament Minister frequently suggests would be an affront to Imperial Policy and it would render our gains during the war completely and utterly wasted, the entire affair for nothing. I cannot accept this without an extreme protest."

'Gains' the Emperor thought to himself sarcastically as his two subordinates fought a war of words, New Terra had certainly avoided absolute destruction during the war and had even seized control of many hostile systems and planets, two of which(Hunsruck and Elizabeth) were actually home-worlds. Although several of their enemies capitulated the New Terrans were immediately faced with the burgeoning fact that they had no possible means to maintain an effective hold over their new acquisitions, as a result they often appointed puppet governments at the end of the conflict that they had no reliable means to reinforce and which they rapidly lost control over to insurrection and collapse of civil order. Their only remaining puppet, Elizabeth, remains in their control as a result of being immediately adjacent to their home systems. Whilst the Marshal would have a very good idea in the previous economic situation his ideas had rapidly become obsolete in the face of the looming helium-3 crisis the Empire was walking into.

"Again, I say, protest all you like but we have to cutback our existing standing military force by at-least 25-50% to see a even have a hope of seeing a significant reduction of helium-3 usage and supply strain throughout the Empire to allow us enough time to either seize a new source of helium-3 or to pursue the possibility of entering into trade relations with a nation who actually has existing reserves of the resource itself, there is no other way."
Jie finally finished.

"Ridiculous I-" Pavel began again.

"Enough, Monsieur Marshal." William finally spoke, his interruption drawing attention from those who found interest elsewhere. "I understand your concern, even more-so as the last occupant of your seat and throughout my own experiences with direction of the war effort, of which you yourself should be aware most of all." the Marshal nodded, looking down.

"I also share a deep concern for our helium-3 situation, but as I've stated I also share a concern for the situation of our defense forces. As we have finally achieved our position as the leading nation of much of the civilized universe I find it absolutely necessary to maintain our position at-least for the next few years in order to properly oversee a realistic plan that covers the effective and efficient placement of our intergalactic spacial forces. As such, I command that a general order is established to maximize our conservation efforts of existing helium-3 reserves to our fullest potential whilst also ensuring that obsolete military units are gradually deserviced in favor of more efficient designs and units." the room fell silent outside of a nearby clerk typing into a console utilized for the recording of important edicts issued during the course of the meetings as needed for future reference.

"If there are no further interruptions, continue with your second point of interest, Mr. Liang."

"My gratitude on your wisdom, your Imperial Majesty, as I was saying outside of our helium-3 consumption we have a second issue that is becoming increasingly clear, land." he looked down to type into a his personal console he set up for himself, bringing up the pertinent information.

"Your Imperial Majesty, I would like to ask you how many people you think reside within our empire, not counting Dominions."

"This is..." William began before resigning to humor the man out of a sense of personal interest, "Well, going by previous records, somewhere around 38 billion?"

"Try over 45 billion." his declaration drew mutters and signs of surprise throughout the room, he continued on. "Indeed, most recent speculations fulfilled by my department have come to recognize the existence of over fourty-five billion souls residing within our home systems. Quite simply, your Imperial Majesty, we are running out of workable space to house and feed our massively growing population, which is certainly growing. We are again experiencing a period of very high birth rates which again puts us in another very similar situation where there remains a definitive requirement to set immediate policy on rectifying, the only options we have are to begin colonizing new worlds or to populate our dominions which will naturally create unrest."

He looked to the Emperor who wasted little time in responding, he was aware of what the Armament Minister was going to bring up before he even entered the building.

"Again, I understand your concern and you wouldn't hold the office if you were carefree, but outside of physical intervention there remains little we can do at this time without a firmly established doctrine backing our efforts. I assure you that this issue will be addressed and you have my absolute and utmost guarantee that we will speak of this at a later date in order to organize the process in creating such a situation, until then I applaud you for your expedient handling of this affair and in the manner with which you brought it forward. But now I must turn the discussion over to our kindly Foreign Minister who has just been positively itching to speak all day and I would absolutely hate to keep him waiting, he's a dangerous man after-all." his response brought a humble nod and courteous laughter as the smiling Foreign Minister, Mladen Izetbegović, rose to address the cabinet.

"Thank you, your Imperial Majesty, but I must disagree with your personal assessment of me, if I were as dangerous as you think our noble Armaments Minister will be very happy and our Marshal out of work."
another ring of light laughter, he continued.

"As you are all well aware, Armistice Station has called an important meeting of much substance. We are naturally one of the first nations they've called upon to attend and we will certainly not be the last. Our colleagues in the Intelligence Community find that nearly every major civilized system in the Galaxy has heard the voices of Armistice, including nations of which we have only had the most basic of relations with, as a result we expect it to be quite the grand affair. I would like to briefly go over our preexisting official diplomatic stances for our newly established cabinet as well as any potential concerns we may have to address at the station."
seeing a nod of approval from his autocrat he continued.

"As for our immediate allies, Kal'Bavakor has retreated into isolationism and with it they have seemingly withdrawn from their obligations as our military and economic allies, the profits we had attained are certainly a loss from this move but most importantly is the loss of their military support for our 'Galactic Security Treaty Organization', frontier intelligence estimates that this was almost certainly a result of an attack on their homeworld or home systems and it may be safe to say that they are no longer in a situation to aid us militarily nor even themselves." he pressed a button on his own compact personal console as he read the next briefing.

"The Red Sun Imperium faced collapse as well during the course of the war and their tertiary territories and homeworld have reorganized themselves into the self-proclaimed 'United Federation of Red Sun Systems', although we originally feared a breaking of diplomatic ties with this new state they have instead shown themselves as being quite interested in a continuation of previous levels of diplomatic relations, including the potential for the renewal of their military and economic alliance and obligations within the GSTO.

As for other nations attending the conference, there are the Zeleniyans who still remain in their usual stance of neutrality ever since they lost control over Zaa'Nabar. Originally they were one of the first nations we considered approaching to establish the GSTO as the penultimate force in countering growing United Systems imperialism but they have continued to remain largely uninterested in us or our propositions outside of basic trade agreements, we intend to attempt to strengthen our ties during the conference but we remain pessimistic as to the potential outcome of that negotiation. Militarily the Zeleniyans are still quite relevant, they never participated in the war which means naturally their military is green but they still retain much of their previous stockpiles of military equipment and supplies and they could still push to try and become a regional power in that Quadrant of the Galaxy."
he pushed another button, shutting down the console.

"That's it for an analysis on important preexisting nations, as for newer participants in the Intergalactic Community we will attempt to approach the following nations of which the approved offices have been briefed about for basic diplomatic communication: Athakan, the Solar Trade Confederacy and the nation labeling itself as the 'Nakar'."

The meeting continued along such lines for quite some time after.

New Terran Imperial Palace
The Embassy of the United Federation of Red Sun Systems

08N - Tomb of Kings 05

The ambassador lazily flicked his finger through the documents and written briefings regarding the current situation regarding the Federation's current global crisis. Helium-3. Nevermind the lost planets and destroyed colonies, the Federation had actually come out of the war stronger than it did when it entered, with the USC off of the offensive, and a bitter truce decided, the focus had shifted towards the next most precedent problem.

The New Terran empire had granted the former Imperium, now Federation a very lofty compound in which the Federation Embassy was home too. It was home to hundreds of Federation foreign affairs employees, soldiers, foreign trade workers, and intelligence agents. The ambassador knew this was all a gift because of the healthy and mutually beneficial relationship that had occured between the former Imperium, and Second Empire of the commonwealth. Trade and immigration flowed both waves, igniting a breath of life into their economies, and a military alliance secured themselves a very real and threatening intergalactic presence. The Federation wished to keep this relationship alive and healthy and the ambassador's job was to ensure this happened.

The ambassador took a sip from the glass that lay on the table in front of him as a mostly armored soldier would approach him. The only thing missing would be a helmet, replaced formally by a tan beret to match his armor.

"Your personal craft is waiting for you, ambassador."

In one single swoop, the ambassador was up from his chair and grabbed his personal holo-tablet and followed the soldier outside towards the small craft where two soldiers were already waiting inside.

"Let the Terran delegation know that we are on our way and the meeting can begin soon, they should be expecting us at their own chambers."

The site of the meeting was set in the midst of a ball, the location itself being the backrooms of a fine estate utilized by the wealthy and influential Cantemir Family. Although this informal place of business would probably seem odd and jarring to the men of the Federation it would be swiftly understood as a normalcy to any seasoned diplomat. New Terran's always found considerable value in 'softening up' people before a meeting and oftentimes throughout their history most major agreements were really set in stone during or after a party before the final formalities sealed the deal at a later date. Naturally, a breach of this protocol by either reneging on clauses agreed upon or outright refusal of a pact previously seen as sealed was viewed as highly dishonorable and often many conflicts emerged amongst parties who would later find later disagreement or change their minds, a simple reality amongst court life.

The Red Sun Ambassador as well as his staff had little trouble docking their craft in the nearby hangar before being driven to the site by a prearranged and scheduled luxury car and driver. Upon navigating the series of cars parked throughout the Estates lot their personal car was brought to an abrupt stop just outside one of the side entrances to the manor itself, naturally they were greeted graciously with bows from the servant staff who swiftly attended to any of their immediate needs, largely for cigars, food and alcohol. Shortly thereafter they were thrust forward into the primary ballroom where various delegates of both minor and significant importance mingled and spoke, weaving their own alliances of personal interest as well as conducting their own schemes and familial diplomacy. After being allowed to mingle for some time, of which they were no doubt approached by a variety of representatives from different families seeking what appeared to be idle conversation.

In time the primary participants stepped forward, making their way through the assembled crowds a portly man with two cohorts approached the Red Sun delegation, slowly fidgeting his wine glass around with one hand he was quick to address the Ambassador.

"Ah, Ambassador, how are you enjoying the party?"
he would waste little time in replying after barely listening to the mans response, "Glad to hear it, Duke Constantin Cantemir at your service, former CEO of Cantemir Industries, Treasurer of the Palace and current head of the House of Cantemir." he offered his hand.

Although Constantin held no official diplomatic post he had the trust of the Emperor which meant quite a lot when it came to courtly affairs and general communication with the highest levels of the Imperial State. To the mans flanks the Ambassador might've recognized Baron Kothari, a primary business consultant of the Palace and appointed 'Overseer of the Palace Staff', there was also Prince Abdurehim Oktur a distant relative of a noble family with major business interests in defense contracting, if he were a particularly shrewd man he would easily mark the two men as being 'representatives' of the Imperial Guard and the Imperial Military, respectively. Such was life in court.

New Terran System
Within detection Range
Nakar Diplomatic Vessel

Over the space of New Terra there would be a small flash of light, almost like a stolen bolt of lightning. Any LIDAR, DRADIS or detection equipment would immediately detect the small vessel. The small ship looks almost organic, its metal shimmers in the sunlight as it flies close to the planet, appearing to stand still. The vessel would be almost corvette sized. It would appear on detection equipment to have an obvious, if not amplified signature, like most Nakar diplomatic vessels. The vessel stands still in space, twirling on itself. The ship would appear to be acting in a playful manner as it spins. On the inside of the cockpit Varrex Mindaro would be sitting on a biomechanical harness, laughing at the two pilots as they spun the ship, twirling it in the planets perimeter.

"You will have my pre-sunrise meal on the floor before I get to diplomatic talks you fools, stop spinning this ship!" Varrex said, chuckling.

One of his pilots turned around from the cockpit flicked a switch, disabling the artificial gravity inside the ship. This causes the tension on Varrex to completely disappear. Next to Varrex were 4 Nakari Marines - The Udspaxkradax. The ship sat in its place, monitoring the planet, but doing nothing intrusive with its sensors. The pilots flicked a few switches in the cockpit, signalling back to Varrex. From Varrex's spacesuit shot out a small stick which he then talked to, on behalf of the ship and its crew.

++ "Ert mae dag ent kurkudu krador stae, ak m<:: "Greetings, I am a representative on behalf of the Nakar. We have come to establish diplomatic ties with your nation, and hopefully, entwine eachother's futures." ++

The Federation's ambassador would be well educated on the heads of government and more important people residing in the Terran government. He wore his best robes and smiled politely through the mingling of the social charade and held himself highly, accompanied by his own flock of personal staff. There was a highly decorated Army Colonel standing tall and with significant augmentation to both his face and body, he wore the gold trimmed, gray uniform of a high ranking officer and was flanked by a Naval counterpart, only lower ranked. They were both flocked by one guard each, adorned in their own dress uniforms. Another man stood close by, wearing a very reserve and neat suit, who kept mostly to himself, with a neatly trimmed haircut, a pointy nose, and faintly glowing eyes. The last was eloquently dressed, and seemed to quiet enjoy the social gathering put together by the New Terran government. He had a styled beard alongside a poorly combed over haircut and seemed much younger than the others within the group.

The Red Sun's ambassador, an older man with slight gray hairs popping up on both his head and his mustache would grasp the CEO's hand firmly and shake it, all the while eyeing the two others behind him inquisitively.

"It is quiet the pleasure to be here," He pauses, waiting for the ambassador to introduce himself. "Pleasure to make your acquaintance. To what do I owe the pleasure?"

"Oh, my dear Ambassador, I believe you already know." he motioned towards a side door and promptly started ahead to lead the small procession onwards through it. The doorway gave way to a long corridor, particularly memorable from the series of seemingly expensive tapestries lining it's wall through to the end. They didn't get to the end of the hallway, of course, as towards the end Constantin darted left to lead the group into a relatively small but still quite grand meeting area. The room was decorated with little aside from the occasional wall decoration, couches, chairs and a series of small end-tables, in the center of the room there was a single square-shaped wooden table that would serve as the center for their dialogue.

As the participants slowly situated themselves the old Duke looked back to the Ambassador.

"Can I get you anything? Wine, perhaps? Food?"
he spoke calmly, taking his seat at one of the heads of the table.

++ "Veille, navire étranger. Vous serez monté à bord." ++

The signature of the ship was detected long before it even approached the gravity well of the system. Being one of the most militarized nations in the Galaxy, largely as a result of immense wartime production, their response was quite predictable. Immediately after the warning message was relayed several nearby defense craft broke off their patrols to intercept the rapidly approaching vessel. A series of light cruisers also showed interest, diverting their courses to come into an intentional and eventual contact with the ships trajectory.

It appeared the ship was, at first, recognized as an alien raider intending to strike at the heart of the Empire rather than a diplomatic envoy seeking national talks, no doubt a consequence of New Terra's flippant attitude when it came to diplomacy in general, especially in regards to talks within Armistice Station.

"Vanadaxiat they have requested us to stop, what should we do?" said one of the pilots, clicking the artificial gravity back on.

"Does this look like a warship? Stop immediately, hail them again." the Vanadaxiat shrugged out his seatbelt and looked up and out of the cockpit to the forces.

"They're using some sort of dialect unknown to us. They're not going to kill us are they?" the pilot replied.

"Of course not, who the hell shoots a diplomatic vessel? Hail them again in Human English. Spool up the FTL drives, though, just in case. Start the ships flight recorder, annotate. Subjects; threatened by military force, ship has no arms of which to strike other ships, AKA Defenceless."

"Copy that, same message?" says the pilot, looking back at the Vanadaxiat.

"No, make this one punchy, prepare to jump us out of here if they take a shot at us. I'm really not impressed by all this." the Vanadaxiat scoffs and runs his thumbs along the spikes on his chin.

++ "Greetings, Nakar diplomatic embassy, requested on your behalf, we are unarmed. Unimpressive display." ++

Whilst after the message is sent, since the ships communications were not jammed, it sends a single tachyon communique message to elsewhere. The message states:

The constant warnings ceased as silence fell upon the ship with little contact being relayed for what seemed like an eternity. Finally, a new message was relayed over open comms to the Nakari Vessel, this time in English.

"Diplomatic Craft of the 'Nakar', this is Commodore Breno Moura of the Imperial Space Command. A landing zone planet-side has been designated for your shuttle craft, recommend you approach from a diverted heading of 290, mark up 120 and launch from there. You are cleared to approach through the designated military traffic zone, you'll have no further troubles from this point on. Out."

The message was curt, offering little in the way of an apology the hailed military vessels swiftly went about re-adjusting their courses and the fast attack craft diverted to resume their previous patrol. The Nakari craft was free to proceed at it's own leisure.

"They've hailed down to land, what should I do?"

The pilot looked back. His flight goggles flicker between lenses. The diplomat stared him in the eyes.

"Well,-"As the diplomat was speaking the machine he used to send a message to elsewhere clicked and spat paper back out, with a message on it from central. The diplomat sighed.

"Land, land where they tell us to."

As the craft goes down onto the planet, fire burns around the ship, showing its entry. The nakar in the craft get shaken about "Well, it shant be long now, shall it?"

New Terran Imperial Palace
Diplomatic Canton, Landing Zone 1-A

The Nakar's craft was slowly guided down into a moderately sized hangar almost completely empty aside from the few craft craft remaining which were primarily utilized by the staff of the Foreign Office and Security Forces. As the Nakar delegation disembarked their craft they found themselves alone in the massive structure, every little sound returning a slight echo throughout the barren chamber all the while in the distance a song was heard playing on a radio. The only immediate signs of life was a distant work crew replacing a faulty light on one of the distance catwalks, they found great interest in the Nakar as they spoke amongst themselves and tried to hide their constant glances towards the foreign craft.

After being left waiting a short while a small group of people hurriedly descended upon them, the leader of the group eagerly stepped forward to introduce himself to the delegation.

"Greetings, men of the Nakar, I am Pham Vinh and it will be my great honor to speak on behalf of my nation, I trust your ride was pleasant?" he nodded, smiling, as he motioned for the beings to follow him as he went to lead them to the nearest lift.

The Nakar craft slowly makes its strange landing into the hanger, it loudly beeps and squawks as its sonar mapping autopiloted its landing onto the ship. The ships carrier ramp, under the cockpit shudders, echoing against the hanger. Letting off a loud metallic horn before the ramp abruptly falls, clanging off the floor. The first thing heard from inside the ship is a sharp exhale in through the nostrils. Vanadaxiat Varrex trudged down the map, his spiked heals coated in metallic boots, he ducked under the craft and stood up after leaving the confines of the ship, standing tall and wide at a height of 8'2. Two Nakar vanguards approached down the ramp after his, their bio-technology was frightful to look at, a metallic centipede-like creature crawled out of one of the vanguards mouth and made a few clicking sounds, then crawled back in. The other marine had a telescopic-like left eye, which audibly whined as it zoomed in on the work crew and began snapping its lenses.

Varrex furrowed his brow as the New Terran crowd came toward him. As the delegation said what they needed to say the Nakar spoke little, however Varrex did indeed speak.

"Phamun Ve-*KZK*<:: Pham Vinh the Diplomat. The honour is all yours. What I see so far... is not what I was expecting, nor was it what my leader was expecting. In due course for our own safety, I should let you and your people know that our diplomatic biosuits will disintegrate themselves if breached, coupled with this, our ship has no star co-ordinates. This was a blind flight to get here, and the journey wasn't short. So please, do not waste my time with your formalities, take me to whoever you deem important enough to beings you'd wish to smite from the sky before doing diplomacy with. Man has not changed, If you truly wish to gain anything meaningful today, convince me that you are different from the rest of your human brethren, and I won't have to inform Declamatorious to cancel your embassy on our world.

However, I do appreciate your efforts to be pleasant, and I enjoy that you trust our race enough with the co-ordinates of your home star-system. You seem to be a militarised society, and that, in itself must have been a bargain. I have the information to give you the reciprocate co-ordinates to our system on my datachip, however this meeting depends solely on what you have to offer us, or what you believe we have to offer you, and how that benefits us both."

Due to the fact that they were probably discussing the whole way as they were talking, moving up through an elevator and observing corridors, they would probably be where they needed to be by now, obviously Varrex would have been listening to any feedback the human would have been giving to him. The lift must have been cramped with the 3 Nakar and the group of people, the Nakar probably had to duck or bend into such an elevator unless it was heavy duty.

Speaking as they moved the Terran Diplomat had little to discuss immediately but he did take a moment to address Varrex directly as they pushed forward into one of the larger elevators.

"I'm sorry to hear we don't match up to your expectations, but be aware that we are not obligated to do anything on your behalf and whether or not you deny our embassy is of no serious concern to us, this meeting was requested as a courtesy. Nothing more, nothing less." he spoke frankly, mimicking the Nakar's own tone, the New Terran's weren't keen on humoring guests with feigned politeness if it only managed to show themselves as weak.

The elevator ride was as brief as the man's retorts as the reflective doors opened to an exquisite lobby adorned with fountains, fauna and well-dressed crowds of nobles and foreign dignitaries who went about their day. The entrance to the building was two wide glass doors connected to walls of the same material, through the windows the group could easily make out the huge plaza that formed the central square of the Diplomatic Canton. In the middle of the Plaza was a large slim rectangle of a monument made out of black marble, the famous 'Monument of Sacrifice' on which was inscribed the names of the soldiers who died during the 'September Incident' which was one of the main catalysts of the Great War. Indented in a noticeable white was a 'poem' of sorts just large enough to be made out from the delegations position it read:

Sleep in peace, heroes of the Terran land,
Dear sons of the Fatherland.

Dear mother is shedding tears,
The young wife found her fears,
All together we're crying,
Cursing fate, dismaying destiny!

You fell for Terra, perished for the Fatherland,
Believe us, we shall avenge you
And celebrate a bloody wake!

Whilst the incident itself was questionable with many historians arguing that both sides were to blame, perhaps New Terra more than most, the words made the deaths from that territorial dispute seem tragic and glorious. Their time to admire the fine decorations of the Plaza was limited as they found themselves in yet another elevator, this one brought them to one of the higher levels of the tall and elaborate building.

Before long they found their way past a few security checkpoints and before long they were in Vinh's office, he cheerily offered seats to both delegations on the various comfortable couches and chairs that surrounded the low glass table in front of his desk before sitting at the head of it.

"Now, I'm not sure exactly what dealings your government would be interested in as there remains very little sources on your people for me to reference, so I'll allow you to go first."
he leaned back in the comfortable leather seat before setting the initial mood,

"Well, Varrex of the Nakar, what do you want?"

As the Nakar Diplomat and his two guards walked into the room the Nakar looked around at the comfortable furniture, preferring to sit on a two-seat sofa, with his two guards remaining behind him on the sofa. One guard would turn his back to Vinh, after this, a small centipede like snake would join the two guards heads together, and their eyes would begin to glow a strange blue, this was accompanied by a minor hum.

Sensing this might be an unseen occurrence for the human, Varrex clears his throat.
"I want to know what you have to offer. I do not pretend to seem like our great empire owes you anything, likewise to thing that we owe you. I've heard that you mocked us at the armistice station, which I find rather rude. However, as you know, one will do anything for the betterment of his nation. I want you to tell me, in terms of galactic knowledge, who exists where, how they know you, and what their tendencies are, if we deem your information acceptable, we shall reciprocate generous information, including that of habitable planets in the area. This could be seen as a first sign of trust in the face of diplomacy, if you yield on this information we will know that you clearly are not interested in diplomacy with us. We have had diplomacy with humans before, and it has only ended in sadness, for everyone involved. We believe you may know of the United Systems Coalition?"

As perturbed as he was by the odd ritual being done by the two guards, Vinh nodded along, surprised at just how much the Nakari were willing to admit they knew nothing about, he assumed they would be fiercely proud and not tip their hand in the slightest and he was more than happy to oblige with an immediate and well-formulated response when the diplomat finished speaking.

"Ah, the United Systems Coalition, we know quite a great deal about them they were our enemies for many years. Long ago they exploited our people for decades, their own fellow humans, they used their 'CIA' to topple our governments and fund civil wars in our own nation all for monetary gain. We eventually shook off their shackles and when they tried to put them back on we chased them back to their home planets and far away from our quadrant of the Galaxy, this was during the Great War of course."

Whilst the details of his later points are embellished Vinh was largely telling the truth, the USC had been engaged in covert regime-change for decades and their historical exploitation of New Terra was no different leading to civil wars which lead to millions of deaths and billions worth of damages.

"We can tell you about their home systems, but as far as we know they are now defunct and irrelevant."

Varrex shifted in the chair, not used to its unusual fabric. He nodded and grunted at some of the statements. As their conversation continued a fair number of questions would be asked.

"So, this CIA, what do they do? Are they an unseen entity?"

"This is greatly appreciated, however I do know the location of the Solar System. We have visited it before, however your willingness to tell us where it is is appreciated, who else do you associate with, diplomatically that is?"

"It would seem as if all other factions dislike the United Systems Coalition, however were they not the birthplace of humanity? We were given the image that all the human factions stood together in times of need.

The Federal ambassador would smile gently, and chuckle. He waves a simple hand aside and make his way into the room.

"We'll take whatever you are having." He pauses for a moment as he takes a seat first, eyeing the dignitary with a genuine curiosity in his faintly glowing eyes. "Is this everyone? How should we begin such a meeting? Should we discuss your newest endeavors on that new wasteland planet, the name is escaping me."

It would be obvious the ambassador would know more than he is letting on, however he would seem to be keeping his cards close to his breast, waiting for the reaction of the New Terran.

The Federation's envoy would begin to situate themselves silently around the table, exchanging side glances and whispers as the ambassador would speak.

"Central Intelligence Agency, they were one of the most effective forces of espionage in the Galaxy, almost as good as our own." Vinh smiled as he spoke candidly, quickly answering the next question thrown at him.

"We associate with a great many nations in the Galaxy, a number of whom also have an embassy on this planet although primarily our dealings, as could be observed on Armistice, focus on our regional allies as part of our obligations as a part of the 'Galactic Security Treaty Organization', we are one of it's founding members after-all."

Vinh couldn't help but smile as he answered the final question.

"No at all, the United Systems are but another colonial offshoot of the first men to explore the stars, our origins are all from Terra, called Earth by some. That is where man first developed and established itself, although the USC is one of our oldest colonies although their thirst for power corrupted them and forced them to fight their own kind."

Seeming earnest he had little trouble bending the truth, by all means it was in fact the New Terrans and their Kal'Bavakorian allies who originally provoked the Galaxy-wide conflict by pressuring the USC through helium-3 sanctions.

"Wine then!" Cantemir spoke, waving over a servant who swiftly set upon filling a series of fine wine glasses.

Brows rose and fell as silence descended upon the room upon mentions of a particular 'wasteland planet', for a moment the only things that could be heard was the pouring of drinks and clinking of glasses before Baron Kothari, the Intel Representative, spoke up as he chewed slowly on a biscuit.

"We're unaware of any active operations outside of basic reconnaissance which is part of our long-term military framework as detailed in our joint-disclosures of information on par with our obligations as a member of the GSTO."

He reached for another biscuit, handing the stage back to Constantin.

"Indeed, and speaking of the GSTO, I trust the rebuilding effort goes well in the Red Sun territories? Your economy seems to be stabilized and rising, quite an impressive feat indeed."

Varrex paused, then licked the roof of his mouth with his tongue. "Well, If there is anything you want from us, in terms of information, that is, officially rather than.... you coming by information that is sensitive, we'd be happy to acknowledge."

"The Galactic Security Treaty Organisation? You say you were a founding member, who else is a founding member of such an... hmm, would I be right in calling it a military alliance? Please, do not fool me with other meanings when my assumptions could clarify this for me."

"So, if the human factions are disbanded, could you go ahead and tell me of the other known human factions in the galaxy? What led to the fracturing of humanity also, this perplexes me, you'd surely be stronger if you stood united, but you choose to fracture, and be separately weaker."

"You would be correct in your assumption, the GSTO was organized to counteract aggression by the USC and it exists now as a predominantly defensive alliance and one of the primary supplier of peacekeepers for Armistice Station Operations abroad."

He nodded along again as he was bombarded with more questions which he again easily produced the answers to.

"It was not a choice, the current human nations are the result of varying individual colonial ventures by the central human governments at the time, when our central government fell during the conflict with the Alarei there was a long period of silence and lack of communication between our various governments and naturally we all established ourselves differently, there has yet to have been a successful movement to unify alongside the political concept of 'Greater Humanity'. I would tell you about existing human nations but I'm sure your own diplomatic staff have that handled on Armistice."he smiled, awaiting the next series of questions.

Varrax smirked. "I see, okay, well, in that case would you say that they don't rank highly in your opinions? If there is any tips you can give us on where they are, we'd be greatly appreciative, our leadership council are eager to do a lot of looking around outside of our control sphere. Obviously you are trying to tell me that your forces were once under the espionage jackboot of this oppressive organisation? If they were to come back up, would you be willing to take council actions? I only say this as I wish to know, on behalf of my superiors who has what motives in terms of keeping their people safe. As you may well know, any leadership that doesn't care about its common beings is one of foolishness. We have fought horrors on the vast borders of our space, nothing like this CIA. Human problems seem to be much less physical in their nature." It was then that one of the strange metallic centipede like structures crawled off the two guards behind Varrex and crawled directly into Varrex's mouth. Varrex simply swallowed it as it bleeped and gurgled down the aliens throat.

Vinh waved his hand,

"I can assure you, one doesn't have to be physically present to exert serious power and influence. I wouldn't say we we're under a 'jackboot' so much as they simply took advantage of us during a low period of development by our Government. As far as I'm aware they no longer remain active, but if they deigned to once-more terrorize the Galaxy as they did in the past we would certainly not remain idle for very long." again he remained stoic in the face of the latest display of these strange alien customs, although his colleagues appeared to be far less accustomed.

Varrex twisted in his chair, the centipede like serpent creature one again crawled back out of his mouth, down his back, pitter-pattering with its metallic legs back around the head of one of his bodyguards.

"Please, do go on. Co-ordinates of these systems would be extremely beneficial, as well as where they operate. If these forces did come back, would you be willing to attack them openly again? Or bring them under some sort of neutralisation. From what I can see, and from what you have told me, they are a selfish and dangerous race, to an end that cannot be fathomed."

"Again, these coordinates are widely available in any basic mapping program on the net, you don't really need us for it. Selfish and dangerous as they once were they are still our people, we had the options of annihilating them from the face of the Galaxy, you know, but we refused to launch our nuclear ordnance."

What he neglected to say was that the Kal'Bavakorians weren't as merciful, throughout the war the New Terrans frequently pushed for peace talks even when they were conducting massive invasions and bombing planets with conventional weapons but the price was clearly of too high cost to the other powers; unconditional surrender therefore nothing fruitful ever came from the endeavors, outside of propaganda value. It was largely the New Terrans who instigated the war to begin with by forcing the USC into an impossible situation, had they been more open perhaps billions of people would still be alive.

"But naturally if these people refuse to see the error in their past ways and stand in a position to once again attempt their vile domination of the Galaxy, as I've said, we will not remain idle."

Varrex then stands, some machinery moving around his legs, somewhat stabilising him in a very unnatural, forced stance. He looks back to his guards, who at this stand begin to enter a form of consciousness again as they adopt a very stern post behind Varrex, an ominous hum emitting from their suits.

"Excellent." he pauses, then his throat ripples, he's clearly thinking hard about his next sentence.

"On my way in I took a picture of a scripture on a statue. As we have been conversing I have been also translating it in my second partition. It read, as far as I translated it;

Death in rest, Human Champions,
Children of a Nation.

Dear mother is shedding tears,
The young intellectual discovered fear,
All together we host dismay,
Cursing fate, sorrowfully hating destiny!

You fell for Terra, died, for the nation.,
You shall be avenged.
And celebrate a bloody wake.

I don't attempt to dance to your tune, Vinh, but it would seem that you don't reflect the values of your society, when it would seem... in your interests. At least how you commemorate your "heroes", to actively play a bigger part in attempting to be more assertive in your foreign policy toward these other humans. You may say what you want but it appears they cost you society greatly. So why are you being opaque with us on this matter? Why do you pretend to be less hostile in nature to those forces you so greatly and obviously despise, and further more, why are you doing diplomacy with us in this office, rather than something bigger, something grand, as we would extend to you?"
